PLEASANTON, Calif. — October 12, 2022 Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group’s (ITV) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council, led by some of the top strategists in the region, will hold its first public event, Leading the DEI Charge to Drive Impact in Your Organization, on October 20th at Las Positas College. Designed for organizational leaders at every level, the event will provide attendees with actionable takeaways and DEI best practices from some of the corporate sector’s most successful leaders.

ITV’s DEI Council was formed to convene the Tri-Valley’s organizational institutions and infuse the region with innovative new approaches and best practices towards becoming a region with opportunities for all its residents and workers. “Through the ITV network, we have the unique opportunity to strategize as a region, learning from each other and our partner organizations and benefiting from the diversity of experience and expertise our leaders bring to the table. This is transformational work that we hope will lead to meaningful systemic changes that will ultimately lift up the entire Tri-Valley ecosystem,” says DEI Council Co-Chair and President of Las Positas College Dr. Dyrell Foster.

Featured keynote speakers are Pleasanton-based Workday’s Chief Diversity Officer, Carin Taylor and Executive Leadership Consultant and transformational leader Larissa Robideaux. For the past two decades, Taylor has driven top Bay Area companies’ DEI strategies and will share takeaways from her current role at Workday.  Robideaux recently served as CEO of the Center for Excellence in Nonprofits. She is highly regarded for her 20-plus years in non-profit leadership and will talk about her experience leading an organization through an intentional anti-racist transformation.

ITV’s DEI Council is Co-Chaired by Beth McCormick, who recently retired after a long career as Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Director of Strategic Workforce Development for Engineering, and Dr. Dyrell Foster, President of Las Positas College. Council members include Jacqueline D. Brown, Workday, Steven Currie, DEI Workforce Development Program Manager, Contra Costa Water District, Aaron Ortiz, La Familia, Illy Peete, Peete Consulting: Racial and Social Equity, Stephanie Rivera, Lazarex Cancer Foundation and Sherri R.
