Marketing & Events Coordinator 

Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group (ITV) is driving a $49B innovation economy in an exceptionally forward-thinking region. A business-led non-profit organization, the leadership group is driven by the region’s largest employers, most significant investors and highly regarded community leaders.

The ITV team is looking for a full-time energetic marketing and events professional to execute strategies that continue the organization’s growth in awareness, community engagement and revenue.

 As the Marketing & Events Coordinator, you will be executing brand-building strategies for a region driven by world-class talent, critical connectivity and vibrant placemaking. This role reports to the CEO.

Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group (ITV) is a collective of leaders and influencers that connect the businesses, educational institutions, research labs and civic leaders in the Tri-Valley. ITV has a small, highly effective team. Successful candidates will be entrepreneurial, innovative, highly motivated, self-directed and great collaborators. Candidates must have strong skills and a flexible approach to deliver excellent messaging through marketing initiatives large and small – including website support, written communications and community events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate ITV’s marketing, brand and communications, incorporating digital platforms, public relations and traditional media with CEO
  • Execute marketing activities to increase overall awareness of both ITV and the Tri-Valley region with measurable impact
  • Support ITV’s brand awareness and presence organically (website, social media presence, events, PR and media partnerships)
  • Build ITV’s community through social media networks – reporting results with analytics
  • Work closely with the leadership team in defining ROI for partners and execute coordinated marketing initiatives that drive value and retention
  • Work closely with the CEO to align and deliver the region’s key messages through agreed marketing tactics
  • Manage external contracts and vendors as needed to achieve the marketing initiatives and strategies
  • Support all member and community-focused ITV events including monthly board meetings and ITV signature events.

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience planning and executing successful marketing campaigns that deliver desired results and demonstrate a positive return on investment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in digital, online and social media marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and multiple duties effectively
  • Support and assistance for high level executives and leaders
  • Collaborative ability to resolve issues and achieve common goal
  • Ability to multi-task in environment with frequent interruptions and the ability to handle confidential information

Requirements:

  • flexible schedule to work weekends/evenings to host and attend community events
  • flexible locations – will require some work in traditional office with some work from home
  • frequent movement around office and occasional lifting of boxes and supplies
  • extensive use of computer and keyboard required for most of the workday
  • ability to attend and assist with event coordination

Who-You-Are:

  • 2+ years of marketing experience with proven track record of success
  • Curiosity about, and interest in, the Tri-Valley innovation community and ability to communicate the organization’s value proposition to diverse audiences
  • Experience with social media networks, analytics software and tools with a data-driven approach to marketing (Social Media, Adobe, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, Constant Contact)
  • Creative designer with experience building meeting and event presentations and digital marketing pieces and newsletters
  • Team player with enthusiasm for sharing ideas and contributing to the overall mission of ITV
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with a positive figure-it-out and make-it-happen attitude
  • Looking to work for a Core Values based community organization
