SUMMARY:Tri-Valley-San Joaquin Valley AHEAD Lunch and Learn | September 18\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free luncheon as we showcase the AHEAD\n (Advancing Hydrogen Electrification and Deployment) Project\n\nInnovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group\, in partnership with the Tri-Valley – San Joaquin Valley Regional Rail Authority (Valley Link) and the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA)\, will host a lunch and learn event on September 18th at the Tracy Community Center to showcase the joint Valley Link/LAVTA AHEAD (Advancing Hydrogen Electrification and Deployment) project and other exciting advancements of hydrogen vehicle deployment in local transit systems. The event will include updates on the Valley Link project\, regional hydrogen workforce development initiatives and the future hydrogen production facility in Tracy. \n\nREGISTER HERE \n  \n \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Valley Link\n \n\n\nValley Link will ultimately close a critical gap in the statewide rail system with a 42-mile\, 7 station rail connection between the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station and the North Lathrop Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) station with all day service on BART frequencies during peak periods. With 33\,000 daily riders projected by 2040\, Valley Link would remove tens of thousands of cars off Interstates 580 and 205 and connect nearly 500 miles of passenger rail with more than 130 stations in the Northern California Megaregion – removing up to 42\,650 metrics tons of greenhouse gas emissions\, creating 22\,000 jobs\, and supporting national goods movement by reducing heavy truck conflicts with cars on Interstates 580 and 205 that serve as life lines between the Port of Oakland and both domestic and international markets. The 22-mile initial operating phase between the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station and the Mountain House Community station\, including the Isabel and South Front Road stations in Livermore\, is targeted for construction in 2025. In addition to the use of zero-emissions vehicles and green energy production technologies\, the Valley Link Board-adopted Sustainability Policy identifies implementing strategies to achieve a zero-emissions system through innovative station access. This includes electric autonomous shuttles\, shared mobility\, and support for local transit operator alternative vehicle technology. Additional information on the Tri-Valley – San Joaquin Valley Regional Rail Authority\, is available on the\nRegional Rail Authority’s website at www.valleylinkrail.com.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group (ITV)\nITV is a collaborative group of industry leaders dedicated to the Tri-Valley: The Heart of California Innovation. By bringing together companies\, non-profits\, and regional thought leaders committed to innovation\, ITV is enhancing the business climate\, spurring job growth\, and expanding the vibrant Tri-Valley community. \n\n

SUMMARY:Hoge Fenton Employment Law Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Social Media\, Marijuana\, and Privacy: How Your Employees’ Off-Duty Conduct Can Affect Your Business \nEvery employee has a life outside the office. While employers have little control over what employees do on their own time\, changes in the law\, politics\, and social media are forcing employers to consider whether they should become involved\, and if so\, whether they are permitted to do so and how. What happens when an employer believes an employee’s off-duty activities affect\, conflict with\, or interfere with the employee’s performance or the company’s policies? \nWhile there is no one-size-fits-all approach\, Hoge Fenton’s Employment Law Team can help you respond to your employees’ off-duty conduct in a consistent\, fair\, and legal manner. Join us for an interactive discussion about social media\, the legalization of marijuana in California\, the distinction between private and public activities\, and employers’ rights and obligations with respect to these issues. \nSchool is back in session\, so we will be conducting this seminar in classroom workshop style! So please bring your thinking caps and be prepared to share your insights and expertise with others. \nWho Should Attend:\nBusiness owners and managers\, CEOs\, CFOs\, COOs\, in-house legal counsel\, human resource professionals\, trusted advisors\, and others responsible for personnel matters.
