Honoring Young Innovators Changing the World

There may be nothing more important any of us can do than enthusiastically support our youngest innovators.

The 2022 Dreammakers and Risktakers celebration was held at the Palm Event Center on May 5th, 2022.

NBC Bay Area’s Jessica Aguirre hosted the event produced by Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group to showcase the bravery and talent of our next-generation workforce.

CLASS OF 2022 DREAMMAKERS AND RISKTAKERS HONOREES

DUBLIN UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Ankita Khatri (Dublin High School) Ankita Khatri made it her mission to save her classmates’ lives by sharing a better understanding of the science and chemistry behind addiction and prescription drug abuse. 

LAS POSITAS COLLEGE

Kyle Johnson Through his position as an impactful campus influencer, Las Positas College Student Body President, Kyle Johnson led the LPC community through an Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility policy overhaul. 

LIVERMORE VALLEY JOINT UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Dorothee Catipon, Caydence Johnson, Caylie Natsch, Calvin Shawler, Naomi Zika (Livermore and Granada High Schools) Students from Livermore and Granada High Schools turned the uniquely profound experience of being a high school student during the pandemic into an original musical for the stage. 

TRI-VALLEY REGIONAL OCCUPATION PROGRAM

Evelyn Arroyo (Livermore Middle College High School at Las Positas College) As Chair of the Livermore Area Youth Advisory Commission, Evelyn Arroyo mobilized her peers to vote in the last election by producing a teen voter registration drive. 

SAN RAMON VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Gavin Ginn (Monte Vista High School) As part of his Capstone AP project, Gavin Ginn raised over $7,000 and organized over 50 volunteers to build part of Livermore’s Goodness Village, a tiny home community that provides affordable and permanent housing options for people experiencing chronic homelessness. 

PLEASANTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Logan Dickey, Vishal Mutharaja, Premkumar Giridhar, Kishore Hariharan, Tarun Prakash, Jacob Bolano (Foothill High School) After witnessing a significant amount of “false attendance absences” being reported in their engineering class, this group of Foothill High School students disrupted the traditional attendance tracking software industry by developing Nize, a full-stack automated attendance system for their school. 

DIGITAL DREAMER

Gatik Trivedi (Dougherty Valley High School) San Ramon sophomore, Gatik Trivedi created a healthcare device to diagnose solutions for multi-organ dysfunction in COVID-19 patients quarantined at home. With real-world application potential, Gatik built the prototype in a local commercial lab and will continue to develop the innovation for future commercial use.
